Boston High School: Cross Country Races 2014
On Saturday 6th December 8 schools met up at 9:45am. The weather was perfect for cross country running. Sunny with a firm frost under foot. Not so good for the supporters who were in the shade of the trees and school buildings!
The boys’ race started at 10am with 69 runners taking part.
Well done to Joshua for being first over the line, with Anton hot on his heels! Not far behind (in 6th place) is his brother Callum. Logan and Eli came in 11th and 12th places. Congratulations to all those taking part in their first Cross Country race, may it NOT be your last?! A special mention about Alex who has taken part in all the races since year 4 and each time he just wants to do his best and try to improve his last race’s position! Brilliant attitude Alex.
Then straight after the boys’ race 49 girls set off for their race. Katie took the lead for a while but in the end she came in 3rd place behind Kasia and Ruby. Well done to them. Also for Tower Road’s Beth (in her first race) came in 4th place with Emily (also her first race) in 7th. Again a very big congratulations to all the girl runners, especially those taking part for the first time.
Overall Tower Road boys’ A team took 1st place, with Butterwick A team in 2nd place and Boston west in 3rd place. In the girls’ race Tower Road girls also took first place with Hawthorn Tree in 2nd and St Mary’s in 3rd place.
Again well done to all the runners and to their supporters. Also a big Thank you to the hares and Mrs Brennan for organising the BHS side of the morning. Thank you to all the adult helpers.
