Homework for Thursday 5th November to Tuesday 10th November

 

If you need any help with any of the homework, or you are not sure what to do, please do ask your class teacher. 

 

Maths – Numbots session (at least 15 mins).

Reading - Please read your reading book at least twice and record it in your Reading Record. Look in the words to learn section at the bottom of the page. If your teacher has written some words please practise reading these.

 

Phonics – in phonics we are learning to read CVCC words (consonant – vowel – consonant-consonant) e.g. tent, land, sink, pink, pump, hand, link, tint, pond. Please practise reading and writing CVCC words – you could hide the words around the house to find, make and play a pairs game or even chalk them outside.

 

 

Knowledge Organiser Task 1 – History Remember, remember the 5th of November! Although Bonfire Night might be a little different this year, you can still enjoy it at home. Build a pretend bonfire out of sticks and red paper, (safely) have some sparklers, make a guy or some toffee apples, watch fireworks videos on YouTube or create some firework artwork. Talk to the children about their experiences of Bonfire Night – what can you see, hear, taste, touch and smell?

 

Knowledge Organiser Task 2 – DT This week we have made sliding mechanisms using characters from our English text, ‘Where the Wild Things Are’. Can you create a Bonfire Night sliding mechanism showing fireworks shooting through the sky. Parents – the children should know how to create one but just in case they need help remembering, here is what one looks like.
