Boston High School Cross Country November 2016

Boston High School Cross Country Races

On Saturday November 26th 74 boys and 60 girls represented their individual schools in a boys' and girls' cross country race at Boston High School.

It was a beautiful frosty but sunny morning. Ideal for running in. The boys' race started at 10am and within seconds they were strung out heading towards the wooded area. Leo held onto a good position for Tower Road but it was boys from Boston West that took 1st and 3rd place with second place taken by Sibsey. Unfortunately Leo was pipped at the post by the Boston West runner. Next time Leo!

Straight after the girls' race took place. Beth soon took the lead and continued to hold the position, finishing in 1st place. Congratulations Beth! What a fantastic run! Boston West runners finished in 2nd and 3rd places.

Overall, in the boys' team places it was Boston West, Sibsey and Hawthorn Tree that took 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, in that order, with Tower Road in 4th.

For the girls' it was Boston West (again in 1st place) with Tower Road and Hawthorn Tree in 2nd and 3rd place.

Congratulations to all the runners, where ever you came- you were all great sports! Thank you to all the parents who came and supported the children, and thank you to all the staff who have trained the children.

And not forgetting the hares and Mrs Brennan for organising the course and helping us stay on track.
