Year 4 Tennis Players of the Future?!
On Thursday 12th March 2015 Boston Tennis Club hosted a development day for Year 3 and 4s in the local schools. Many schools attended the event with the real intention to learn more about the game of ‘Red Tennis’.
Red Tennis is a miniature game of the actual game of tennis aimed at younger children. There are a few different rules to the game.
The objectives of the session consisted of:
Rules of the game
Learning different types of strokes (forehand and backhand)
Serving (under arm and overarm)
How to rally and referee matches
Throughout the session it was great to see how much
each player had improved both in technique and tactics.
Our thanks go to the organisers of the Tennis Club and a big thank you to Matt Haslam and Thomas Middlecott students for organising and supporting!
