Tower Road’s Rugby Superstars reach the final in Tag Rugby 2015 Festival
On Thursday 22nd of October, Tower Road’s Tag Rugby team took part in the Tag Rugby festival held at the Princess Royal Sports Arena. The day was split in 2 halves. In the morning the children were taught rugby skills by coaches from Boston Rugby club and students from Boston College. In the afternoon, the children put these skills into practise, in a tournament. There were 5 other schools taking part and everyone competed in a round robin stage first, which Tower Road managed to win all their games, showing some impressive form which automatically put them through to the semi- finals which was against Butterwick A. The team comfortably won this game, again showing off their impressive form, which then lined up a difficult final with Swineshead Primary School. The game was end to end and nothing to separate them meaning the game ended in a tie at 5-5. The game then went through to a Golden Try, which unfortunately Swineshead won. Second place for Tower Road but winners of the Fair Play trophy! Excellent! Our thanks go to the organisers of the festival, and to all the college students for their help. Thank you to everyone who came to support the team.
