FRIDAY BULLETIN #24, 21 March 2025
Learning for Life

Dear Parents/Carers,

1. BROMCOM UPDATE

ParentMail is being replaced in our school by Bromcom. To be ready, the first thing you must do is download the MCAS app.  Do this as soon as you can.  There won’t be anything on the MCAS app though until Bromcom is ready to use.

We had expected to move over to Bromcom on Monday 24 March 2025; however, this has been delayed as not all data has moved across to Bromcom correctly.  We are working on this and hope to have Bromcom up and running soon.  Please continue to check ParentMail each day so that you know when to expect you’re email link to activate Bromcom.

2. ATTENDANCE – UPDATE

So far this academic year, whole-school attendance is 95.05%, up a little again on last week.  Our end-of-year target is 96.5%.

This week, whole-school attendance has been 96.3%.  This is really, really good.  Well done, everyone!  The number of children arriving late at school this week has increased from 42 to 71.

Best attending class this week: Mrs Sewell’s Y2 class with 99.67%! Well done! How does that affect the league table?

Best attending classes so far this academic year:

  • First place, Y3Br, 96.70%.  Still on top but another fall this week.  Be careful!
  • Second place, Y4C/A, 96.27%.  Same as last week. Still in second place.
  • Third place, Y4L AND Y5, both with 96.19%.
  • Fourth place, Y6M, 95.82%. Moved up one place.
  • Fifth place, Y5C, 95.65%. New to the Top 5.  Well done!

Bubbling under with 95% or more are Y6R, Y5A, Y4W/B, Y3Brom and Y3Bates.

3. BAKE SALE ON TUESDAY

The children from Market Garden Club are excited to announce that they will be holding a bake sale straight after school on Tuesday 25 March.  The sale is to raise money for items for their sensory garden that they are entering into the Lincolnshire Show competition in June.

If you are able to donate any baked goods, please bring them to the school office on the morning of Tuesday 25 March. If you are planning to buy the bakes/cakes to donate, please present them in their original packaging so that we know what the ingredients are.  If you are going bake your own, please provide a list of ingredients.

If your child will be at Teatime Club on Tuesday, they are able to bring £1 in a named envelope and they will be given the opportunity to buy a cake from the sale to bring home.

Thank you very, very much for your support with this.

4. RED NOSE DAY for COMIC RELIEF

Thank you for allowing your child to join in with today’s celebration of Red Nose Day.  And the best joke is:

Why did the toilet roll run down the hill?

So it could get to the bottom!

5. BOOKING EARLY BIRD AND TEATIME CLUB

Please be reminded that bookings for either Early Birds and/or Teatime Club must be made before midnight on Thursday of the week before.  This is so the right amount of food can be ordered on Friday to arrive on Monday.  Thank you for your help with this.

6. PLEASE HELP US

This is a polite request and reminder about a couple of processes that we have in school that help to make things run smoothly and keep children safe:

  1. Please let us know as soon as you can – and by 2:00pm at the latest - if the end-of-school-day arrangements for collecting your child have to change.  When we find out late in the school day, it becomes difficult to get the message to the right adult in time because the school is in assembly or has already started to leave the building!
  1. When leaving a voice message or sending an email to let us know that your child won’t be in school, please give us as much detail as you can.  Saying your child is ‘poorly’ or ‘ill’ isn’t enough.  Please send all messages by 8:30am.

Thank you for your help with both of these.

7. NEW ASSISTANT HEADTEACHER

We are pleased to announce that Mrs Siswick has been appointed as Assistant Headteacher at Tower Road Academy. Congratulations! Mrs Siswick will continue with her role as SENCo and is now trained to be part of the safeguarding team.

8. BUMPED HEAD

When a child bumps their head in school, not only do you receive a phone call from the person that administered first aid, your child will also be wearing a yellow wristband and will have been asked to take home a note on yellow paper. The yellow wristband is to alert you to check your phone for messages and/or to locate the note.   (It’s been a while since we reminded you of this process so we thought we’d do it now!)

Have a great weekend!
